There was a shooting in a school toilet in Trångsund. Then an American teacher posted a video of her school's lockdown kit. It included lollipops. A child who is eating cannot scream.

I cast lollipops in glass and asked the police to help me shoot them to pieces with an air pistol. One lies on the cracked mirror it was shot against.

I was seven months pregnant when I made it.

The installation

The installation

Around the lollipops lie dismantled 3D-printed guns. A quiet argument with how weapons and gangster culture are made to look good, and how media and society make violence ordinary.

The video plays inside a handmade circus tent, a tragicomic show. The tent is the point: media sensation is a performance, and it reshapes how we see violence.

At the centre is a porcelain baby head filled with dripping red caramel, and a dead pink elephant. The sacrifices and the unease of bringing a child into a world like this. When the head breaks and spills, it becomes another lollipop: the same fragile sweetness with something sharp underneath.
